Socialist
Script
By Linus Leavens
The Burlington Free Press
has followed the script handed to them by Socialist activists. On December
1, 2007, an Anti-War club at Mount Mansfield Union High School conducted
a protest at the Vermont National Guard recruitment office in Williston,
VT. just a day after trying to oust military recruiters at their high school.
The headlines "War protesters
cited" & "High-schoolers organized demonstration" appeared 12/1/07
along with photos of the event. BFP reporters & photographers had recorded
the events as they unfolded, videotaping the protesters as they approached
the recruitment office. Photos & video were posted on the BFP web site.
Interviewed was an adult,
Matt Howard, "reached by cell phone while he was inside the guard offices".
He's the president of Iraq Veterans Against the War Vt (Google "Matt Howard
Socialist" & "Matt Howard Cindy Sheehan").
Despite representation that
students organized the protest, the published photos & video on the
web clearly show adults with a bullhorn leading & urging on the High
School club members (Google "BurlingtonFreePress.com").
Clearly, the BFP staff on
the scene were willing participants in this manufactured news event. How
did they get Matt Howard's cell phone #? Why was an adult activist quoted
in a story of a protest represented as being about 14-year-olds? Why wasn't
the teacher sponsor of the MMU anti-war club identified & interviewed?
Does this high school anti-war club even have a teacher supervisor?
Interestingly, the story
was also posted anonymously at 3 am Dec 1st on an Indy-media web site (Google
"Infoshop news Williston, Vt") run by Chuck Munson, whose mantra posted
on the site is "Kill Capitalism before it kills you".
The outrageous behavior of
the adults present has yet to be addressed. They have used children as
Socialist puppets & encouraged them to be cited for criminal trespass.
They have taught these children that it's okay to exceed the constitutional
boundaries of free speech & to have complete disregard for private
property rights. These people have contributed to the delinquency of minors
using IVAW's 501(c)3 status.
The parents, many of whom
undoubtedly approve of their children's actions, are not being held accountable.
And on what basis did Chittenden Co. prosecutor T. J. Donovan decline to
cite some of the minors at the scene who clearly violated the law?
Two protests get front-page
headlines with photos, video, blogs, the works. But have the students learned
anything at all about critical thinking? Have the subscribers & readers
of the Burlington Free Press truly been informed of all the facts? Has
the BFP been an unbiased reflection of the truth here? You already know
the answer.
