Consensual Texting: The
Planned Parenthood Way
The
Vermont House Judiciary Committee held a press conference at the State
House recently in order to reassure Vermont parents that the controversial
practice of "sexting" will not be legalized and that "sexting" is not acceptable
behavior. In addition the House Judiciary Committee is discussing a proposal
that would create a new offense for teenage "sexting."
But while the debate rages
over how best to protect Vermont teenagers from dangerous behaviors, Planned
Parenthood of Northern New England continues to promote their Consensual
Text web site and to encourage young people to sign up for regular
sexually explicit messages that can be received either by email or by cell
phone.
The site invites young people
to "sharpen your sexpertise and have ‘consensual text’ with us. Sign
up for weekly text messages that include sex facts, quizzes, and chances
to win stuff."
The link is on the Planned
Parenthood of Northern New England’s home page at www.ppnne.org
(Click on the Follow the Goddess Icon) and the site has no age verification
process for signing up.
One recent message included
advice on how to use household plastic wrap as "a turn on, enticement,
and a fun way to get "things going". Wrap yourself up!"

Planned Parenthood of Vermont
is the largest provider of abortions in the State and is the monopoly recipient
of $1.5 million dollars under the federal Title X family planning program
and receives an annual "gift" of $300,000.00 from the State’s General Fund.
Vermont’s government appointed
officials continue to look the other way while Planned Parenthood seduces
kids into sexual activity and then profits from the negative health consequences
of such behaviors; including abortions and treatment for STD’s.
Pro-Lifers Protest Abortion
& Physician-Assisted Suicide at the Health Care Rally
Over 30 pro-life Vermonters
were on the State House lawn in Montpelier on Friday, May 1st
at the Healthcare is a Human Right rally in order to remind lawmakers
that abortion and physician-assisted suicide are not health care and should
not be included in any health care proposal.
Just prior to the scheduled
rally, legislation to legalize physician-assisted suicide was introduced
in both the Vermont House and Senate (S. 144 and H. 455). The specter of
a government run system that relies on rationing of health care along with
legalized physician-assisted suicide is cause for great alarm.
In Oregon, where doctor assisted
suicide is legal, a patient can be denied lifesaving health care but the
State will cover the cost of a lethal dose.
"It is no accident that
the push to legalize physician-assisted suicide is rearing its ugly head
at the same time that pressure is being put on lawmakers to change the
health care system and reduce health care costs," stated Mary Hahn
Beerworth, Executive Director, Vermont Right to Life. "In Oregon, patients
who are under-insured and dependent on Oregon Health Services can be denied
medical treatment and offered physician-assisted suicide."
Pro-lifers will continue
to object to the inclusion of abortion in any new system of health care.
When former Governor Howard
Dean unveiled his health care proposal in the early 1990’s, the plan would
have covered abortion throughout pregnancy for all Vermonters at a cost
of just $5.00.
Pro-lifers carried signs
that read: Physician-Assisted Suicide is NOT Health Care, Abortion is
NOT Health Care, and Life is the First Right.
